Thanks to many kind donations, the WHA team is proud to say that we have collected more than 100 Christmas gifts for the Warrington Toy Appeal, which will be distributed by Warrington Borough Council, to those who might otherwise go without this festive season.
A selection of toys, books, clothing, and vouchers have been organised into special age-specific parcels ready for Christmas morning and will be passed onto families that have been referred to the council for support.
Lisa Dennett, WHA Customer Service Advisor, organised the project and said: “We’ve been the lucky ones. There are a lot of families out there who have lost someone or lost their jobs or their homes.
“There’s a lot of children who have to go without a present on Christmas morning and it is especially not a nice time at the moment, so we just wanted to give back to the community.”
Rachel Flexen, WHA Customer Service Advisor, who supported the collection, added: “When we started the appeal back in October, I put a few items on the shelf for it and they looked so lonely, but then it really took off! It’s been great and everyone has been so generous this year.”
The gifts are sure to put a smile on faces and give children around Warrington the Christmas they deserve. Special thanks to everyone who got involved to support the appeal.
