The deadline is fast approaching for over 75’s to either purchase a TV licence or apply for an exemption under new rules which removed the blanket exemption for this group.

An additional 1-year grace period was allowed during the coronavirus pandemic, but this comes to an end on 31 July 2021.

Recently published figures demonstrate that 90% of affected people have made arrangements to purchase a licence or have applied for exemption, but there are around 260,000 people across the country who have still not done so.

People in receipt of Pension Credit are eligible for an exemption but will still need to apply for this.

All affected people can apply online or call 0300 790 6151.
